Guided hiking Wednesday

Caldera de Taburiente

The Caldera de Taburiente is the heart of the island and with a diameter of almost 9 km and a depth of 2000 meters the largest erosion crater of the world. The hike through her interior is correspondingly overwhelming. After a half hour drive we start from Los Brecitos at an altitude of 1030m. Through fragrant pine forest we will hike on a gently sloping path to Playa de Taburiente. In the cool river you will be able to refresh your feet during our picnic and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains. From here the path leads us down into the gorge of death fear “barranco de los angustias”, where the last bastion of the Palmerian natives terrified the heavily armed Spaniards. We walk through the river bed in the gorge, past the colorful waterfall “Cascada de Colores” to the parking spot just before Tazacorte. An exciting and varied tour that requires some stamina.

Distance 14km / walking time about 5 hours / altitude difference + 200m, - 900m
