Guided hiking tours Saturday

Historical caves and dragon trees

This wonderful hike near Las Tricias is a treat for mind and soul, offering wonderful insights into the history and botany of the island. The old village paths lead us right through life and past imposing legendary dragon tree groves. Another highlight are the caves of the indigenous people of Buracas, which are studded with rock carvings. After the hike we visit the traditional farmers market of Puntagorda, where we can stock up on local delicacies and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Cornmill hike above Santa Cruz

A short city tour through Santa Cruz gives us an insight into the exciting history of the capital. The cornmill hike leads us past several grain mills that are cleverly connected one behind the other to a mountain ridge with a great panoramic view. We pass one of the most curious football stadiums in the world (Guinness Book of Records) and finally reach the pilgrimage church of Las Nieves. Here we admire the oldest statue of the Virgin Mary in the Canary Islands, which mysteriously found its way to the island even before the conquerors arrived. With tapas we enjoy the cozy ambience before we start our way back to Santa Cruz.
